Washington Park

I decided that my bike and I would both benefit from it being brought down from the rafters in the garage and into the studio at Envoi. I took advantage of it twice, just today. I opted to ride my bike to a meeting this morning at the Moerlein House. And then for lunch, I trucked it over to Findlay Market for some Skirtz & Johnston. A co-worker has been there several times and with each of his passing visits, I became more and more jealous. So I grabbed a pulled pork sandwich and took off down the street for the re-opened Washington Park. Beautiful. They really did a great job. Erica and I got married in 2009 at Music Hall. It was an amazing day, no doubt, but something like this would’ve made it all the better. And then I walked around the large open yard and in the park, with Music Hall in the background, a large consortium of Japanese students were getting their picture taken and that’s when it hit me. It’s not about me. It’s about all kinds of people coming from all over our own country and the world as a whole and enjoying the city I live in and passing all that along. I felt proud to be a citizen and looking around, I could see the same look on other faces.
